Richard Feynman's test for genuine understanding: explain the concept as if to a 12-year-old. Jargon and complexity often conceal shallow understanding. The clearest thinkers and the best communicators are those who can make hard ideas accessible — which requires genuinely grasping them first.
Take your most important current goal or project. Explain it in under 30 words, in plain language, to an imagined stranger. If you struggle, the thinking isn't done.
